WEATHER warnings have been issued in southeast Queensland, with damaging winds and heavy rainfalls expected to mar the long weekend.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Robert Wardle says the Darling Downs region, south of Brisbane, was already copping between 40mm and 50mm on Sunday afternoon.
He says the trough is expected to move to the coast and affect areas from the Gold Coast and north to the Sunshine Coast.
Brisbane is expected to receive about 50mm.
Mr Wardle said flash flooding could be expected in some areas, but there would not be the same type of mass flooding that wrecked havoc on the state in recent months.
"People should just keep track of the warnings we're issuing and of course look at the radar online," he said.
Mr Wardle said there was no indication of hail.
